STRATEGY FOR TRANSITION TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN CENTRAL ASIA: A REGIONAL PERSPECTIVE
Contenido principal del artículo
Resumen
This paper examines the strategy for transitioning to a circular economy in Central Asia from a regional perspective. As the countries of Central Asia face increasing environmental pressures, resource depletion, and the need for sustainable economic growth, the circular economy model offers a viable pathway to balance economic development with environmental protection. The study analyzes current policy frameworks, institutional conditions, and resource management practices in countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Particular attention is given to waste management systems, energy efficiency, water resource utilization, and industrial sustainability.
