THE IMPACT OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY ON ECONOMIC GROWTH AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This article examines the role and influence of the digital economy in stimulating economic growth and fostering comprehensive national development. As digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data analytics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) continue to transform traditional economic models, countries are increasingly reaping productivity gains, enhancing service delivery, and creating new forms of economic value. Through a literature review and analytical evaluation of global trends and national policies, particularly in emerging economies, this paper explores the mechanisms by which digitalization contributes to macroeconomic performance, innovation, job creation, and institutional modernization. Special attention is given to challenges such as digital inequality, cybersecurity threats, and the need for regulatory adaptation. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers to design inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-driven digital economic strategies.
