INCLUSIVE TOURISM IN UZBEKISTAN: SYSTEMIC BARRIERS AND WAYS TO OVERCOME THEM

Abstract

The article examines the essence and significance of inclusive tourism as a field that ensures equal travel opportunities for people with diverse health conditions. It highlights the multifaceted nature of inclusive tourism, which encompasses not only physical accessibility but also social, informational, and cultural adaptation. Particular attention is given to the development of inclusive tourism in Uzbekistan, where this area is gradually gaining relevance amid the country’s growing attractiveness as a tourist destination. The study analyzes both public and private initiatives aimed at creating a barrier-free environment. It identifies the main challenges in the development of inclusive tourism, including conceptual, infrastructural, social, informational, and economic barriers. The article emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to building an accessible tourism environment and strengthening the role of inclusion as an important factor in the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
